I was at a 2-year-old’s birthday party yesterday. The kids had one of those air-filled bouncy thingamajigs, but the adults got smoked brisket and sausage. Take a look at the smoke ring on this delectable piece. Oh, that was only one of about 8 he had going.

We participate in a local Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) farm and today was the first produce of the year. Fresh Earth Farms is only about 5 miles away from our house, and we get roughly 18 weeks of the freshest, yummiest, some-stuff-I’d-never-heard-of-yet-alone-thought-of-buying-est produce I’ve ever had.
This week I brought home:
- 2 heads of lettuce
- 2 heads of broccoli
- 2 kohlrabi
- 1 bunch of green onions with huge bulbs
- 1 bunch of green garlic
The broccoli and kohlrabi are destined to be roasted in the oven; the garlic and onions will go into stir frys, and it looks like I’ll have a salad or 10 too.
