Hmmm

I just realized I have another reason to post a little more frequently - comments, which I love to get, cause the page to be rebuilt, so I might end up with no posts on the front page. Just like the past 10 hours.

Update: Unless of course I override the setting and specify that the last n (n=6 for now) entries show up.

Big Excel Error

Woody’s Office Watch reported via email today that Excel 2003 has a serious bug in its generation of random numbers. Since so many real-world apps rely on Excel’s (pseudo-)random numbers, this is a big deal. See the discussion at Woody’s (the newsletter isn’t online yet Update: Now it is).

What I Want…

I’m not talking about Christmas or anything like that…just what I want, in general. I want a KVM switch that will work with my existing peripherals (PS/2 keyboard and a USB mouse) that is relatively cheap. I can’t find any that take the “mixed” types, so I’m willing to buy a USB keyboard. I’d like to spend less than $50 on the KVM switch. Anybody know of such a product? The switches I’ve found that take USB keyboards/mice all seem to be around $100. But, since I never looked at the switches before today, I may be missing something.

70s TV

Battlestar Galactica is back as a mini-series next week. I remember loving the show, although I was too young to become a hard-core fan. Should be interesting to watch.
